Unfortunately, Bunbury is the only speed club south of the river. There are only 3 speed clubs in Perth, all located north of the river and links can be found on this website.

You are most welcome to try us at Kingsway Rd, Madeley, which is probably the closest to you. Look at stadium location at our website; basically turn right off Wanneroo rd. Kingsway road is only a few hundren meters after Hepburn ave.
Friday, 6.15pm session would probably suit you. You can enquire about road training then. You did indeed wrote to me earlier on but I didn't realise it was you.

Yes, it is the badminton centre. Tomorrow is likely to be the last for this year. We will then have a 3 - 4 weeks break and resume in January. You can just try for $6 a session, and then decide on membership in Janaury. We will explain when we see you.

Hi Newbie. We are North of the river.
If you look for Kingsway reserve( a very large council run grassed sporting area) situated behind Kingsway Shopping Centre (which is on corner of Wanneroo road and Hepburn Ave), we are on the edge of this sporting complex. You have to enter the Badmington centre from Kingsway road There is no access from the reserve other then on foot.
Go to the home page of this site and in the middle of the introduction you will see the words locate badmington centre click on here for a very good map. Look for Marangaroo (just above centreof map) Enlarge and the small suburb of Madeley will appear above. Keep enlarging the map for better details. By the time you visit us it will be getting dark and unfortunately the entrance is not well lit. If you come along Kingsway road from Wannerroo road you will come across a small roundabout. Go straight across , you will then see the start of the reserve on your right , the entrance for the complex is less then a kilometer ( approximately)up the road on the right.
If coming from north of Hepburn Ave down Wanerroo Road then Kingsway Road Is the road before Hepburn ave.
You can use the freeway and come off at Hepburn Ave and head East . Turn Left onto Wanerroo and Kingsway Road is on the right after the shopping centre.
Hope this Helps.

Thankyou skatersmom I was actually wondering where Newbie was south of the river. This is Jacqui from Bunbury, I got back from the US 3 weeks ago, and I'm living with my mum in Freo. I want to start training again, but I'm hopelessly unfit, so I thought I'd try to get into shape on my own before publicly embarrassing myself... Hope to see you guys soon

Hi J , I think I made a mistake. I read the thread as coming from Nathan, when in fact it was from you. teach me to read properly. Im glad to see you coming back into the sport. I am pretty sure you will pick up fitness really quickly. I believe there are plenty of good skating tracks around the city. Im not sure what freo offers.
If you dont mind the distance we'd love to see you training here . We have a number of girls in your age range that come purley for the fitness and fun side of the sport , so you will fit in well.
If we are too far then Morley may be easier. Their advantage is the floor is concrete and similar to Bunburys.
once again..glad to see you back

Hi J, sorry for the late reply, I am in Vic Park. I am keen to train if you want. Let me know, I am going to go to the Kingsway as soon as i get back to Perth. Cheers skatersmom, very detailed directions, i couldnt possibly get lost with those notes.
PS I only use a pair of Powerslide R4's, will they do to get started?

HAHA, and also, I want to upgrade my skates, i find the R4's, feel, um , long... If that makes sense? Is there a place in Perth that sell speed skates, or is it back to Bayside blades with me, any recomendations as to what skate to look at? I like the Bont 3 mount Apache... Seems good value..

Hi Nathan
Not sure what you are after in all your posts. You are a newby and ask about skating equipment and at the same time about double push technique. There are adequate information posted on our webpage and links regarding training around Perth.
There are also plenty of good articles on the web for you to read.
